This weekend we took an adventure to Rangitoto. This is an old volcanic island where only around 60 people reside. We hiked up the mountain and saw some very beautiful views. It was truly magical to see all the different islands when we looked out over the volcano, the greenery, the city of Auckland, and the amount of people who were also enjoying this island. We stopped to find some souvenirs and ate a yummy burger for dinner. Saturday was a lovely day but days like today are getting much warmer. The heat is so much hotter than what I am used to! Not that I am complaining because there is snow back home...
On Sunday, we headed to the mall to do some shopping. I got Chinese
food for lunch and we tried some of their fresh ice cream! My smoothie was delicious and refreshing on such a hot day. We ended the day with a barbecue at our house with all the neighbors, which are also family. There was about 15 of us! We ate brats, steaks, and banana cake for desert. Us girls dressed as a part of Santas crew. We watched fireworks to end our night! They are much smaller than the ones in the States but were still enjoyable to watch.
